Paisley Crab - variety dehliensi: Sometimes my mind embellishes things a bit. I adore crabs and I wonder if this Dungeness crab feels as fancy as I imagine it to be. It is convenient that crabs often hold still or move slowly as if posing for a sketch or two, even though they are quite capable of tiptoeing, scurrying and -a few- even swimming.
Giclée (ghee-clay) is French for "to spray". In short it is a process whereby the original artwork is rendered digitally. Artists at the printery, or atelier, work with the image on a high resolution computer screen to get it completely accurate. Then the image is printed onto a substrate of either canvas or paper. My works are on museum-quality paper using archival inks. I limit my editions to 100 and often add gold leaf or bits of hand coloring.
