From a Field in January: I harvested most of these dried plants in January from the narrow strip of sand between Aleck Bay and the road. I think the "weeds" and the grasses are most dramatic after they have withstood a few salty winds and a bit of freezing temperatures. The dried seed pods of the Chocolate lily, collected from a nearby peninsula, look a bit like fragile lanterns, and some last through a few summers.
